Yellowstone Bison Have a Funeral for a Fallen Herd Member I believe that the intelligence of the bison is greatly underestimated by many. In this video you see a bison funeral in Lamar Valley for one of their herd members that was probably hit and killed by a vehicle. The members of the herd come over to her and try to get her to stand up and join the herd again. Filmed April 15th, 2024, by Scott Brovsky, Big Sky Wildlife.

This female wolf pup was left behind when the rest of the Shrimp Lake pack went out on a hunt. After she played with the leg bone of a Bison carcass, she got lonely and started howling for the pack at sunset. This is the actual audio of her howl. It is very hard to capture audio out in the field and almost all of the audio you hear in wildlife documentaries is created in a studio. Luckily she was close enough for me to be able to capture her howling. Filmed March 16th, 2024 at dusk by Scott Brovsky, Big Sky Wildlife.

Check out these two Sandhill Cranes performing a courtship dance in Yellowstone National Park. It is early April and this male and female have just arrived for the season. They're already celebrating their return with a courtship dance. Sandhill Cranes are known for their elaborate dancing rituals, which are an essential part of their mating process. While these dances are most common during breeding season, they can happen all year round. Watch as these two graceful cranes engage in a combination of wing-flapping, bowing, jumping, and picking up pieces of grass and dirt to toss into the air. Filmed with my Sony A7R IIIA camera with a Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens.
