It’s wonderful to have this mating pair of Ospreys back in Lamar Canyon again this year prepping their nest for egg laying. In the second photo you can see an Osprey returning to the nest grasping dirt in his/her talons. In the third photo the couple is positioning a new stick they just brought back to the nest. Photographed April 19th, 2024 by Scott Brovsky, Big Sky Wildlife.

This female wolf pup was left behind when the rest of the Shrimp Lake pack went out on a hunt. After she played with the leg bone of a Bison carcass, she got lonely and started howling for the pack at sunset. This is the actual audio of her howl. It is very hard to capture audio out in the field and almost all of the audio you hear in wildlife documentaries is created in a studio. Luckily she was close enough for me to be able to capture her howling. Filmed March 16th, 2024 at dusk by Scott Brovsky, Big Sky Wildlife.

Meet the recently collared Junction Butte wolf pack yearling 1479F. I have been watching her since she first emerged from her den at Slough Creek in Yellowstone last year. She is the only survivor from that litter. Her coat is in transition phase from winter to summer. Photographed handheld on April 28th, 2024 by Scott Brovsky, Big Sky Wildlife.
