A Coyote pulls off a chunk of meat from a drowned bison carcass at Blacktail Ponds in Yellowstone. The Blacktail Ponds have a shoreline with an overhang. Because bison don’t have shoulders that work like a grizzly or wolf, when they fall through the ice, they are unable to put their front legs on the shore to pull themselves out of the pond and they drown. From December 23rd 2025.
