Check out these two Sandhill Cranes performing a courtship dance in Yellowstone National Park. It is early April and this male and female have just arrived for the season. They're already celebrating their return with a courtship dance. Sandhill Cranes are known for their elaborate dancing rituals, which are an essential part of their mating process. While these dances are most common during breeding season, they can happen all year round. Watch as these two graceful cranes engage in a combination of wing-flapping, bowing, jumping, and picking up pieces of grass and dirt to toss into the air. Filmed with my Sony A7R IIIA camera with a Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens.
